Teacher’s Training

“Teachers training workshops bring back a flood of new ideas for introducing new lesson plans and formulas for tapping into our students’ creativity and expanding their knowledge and ability to learn on a much more creative basis!” Oxford University Press organized a workshop for Amarjyoti Saraswati International School Pre-Primary teachers on 11/11/2016 conducted by Ms. Sonia Relia. She is the author of the activity based series of early years learning. She has been working with pre-school and classes 1 and 2 for past 27 years. She is a specialist in curriculum development and teachers training. She has conducted over 300 workshops as a resource person on behalf of the Oxford University Press India.

 

All the themes focused on in this session were actually worth listening and grasping. The main concentration of the workshop was on audio and listening skills. She explained the teachers to teach the students through activities like learning different colours through worm activity, learning birds through a story, phonics sounds, counting through string of beads etc. She clubbed the hindi language with Indian folk music and taught us to recite hindi rhymes alongwith musical instruments like manjira, tambourine etc. All the teachers actively participated in the session and enjoyed learning new things from her. It was very helpful for the teachers in enhancing their teaching skills.
