Open Day – Bridging Home and School

An Open day for the Pre-primary section of Amarjyoti Saraswati International School was observed on 25th of April, 2015 to discuss about their child’s overall development. The teachers gave an insight to the parents about the methods followed in school to build their cognitive skills, sensory skills, motor skills etc. They were also informed about their academic and social performance in school and parents share their experiences from home. To bridge home and school, there were several activities planned for the parents like leaf pasting, sand pasting, thumb printing. A Book about Me, Spot the Difference, Treasure hunt, Walk on footsteps, Sort out the seeds and hand printing. Parents along with the children enjoyed this experience of staying in the classroom with their little ones and they have travelled back in time to their childhood days.
Overall it was a satisfying experience for the parents who were convinced that their children are in a motivating and secure environment. The children also loved doing such activities with their parents in their own comfortable classrooms and went back with faces beaming in happiness and joy.
