Plastic damages our health and our environment. Plastic is an environmental hazard. It is polluting land, water and air because it is non- biodegradable. To show an awareness of the dangers of plastic and ways to avoid their usage, the children of Amarjyoti Saraswati International School (Pre-Primary) celebrated No Plastic Day on 3rd July, 2019 by distributing cloth bags made from old saree or cloth to the fruit and vegetable vendors with their tiny hands. The main purpose of this drive is to initiate the people and encourage the public to switch over to cloth bags and completely do away with plastic bags when they go to markets for purchasing groceries. This will reduce the plastic waste so generated and will be good for the city’s long-term environmental health.
