Expressions – Gurupurnima Celebration

Gurupurnima is a traditional celebration of Hindus and Buddhists. It is marked by worshiping of the Guru. On this day students expresses his gratitude to his Guru. It is a day to be grateful for all the blessings and knowledge received from our teachers.

We Indians don’t have mother’s day and father’s day, but we have a Guru’s day and also teacher’s day in India. That is the respect the culture has placed on a teacher because the teacher student relations is so vital to the learning process. It’s not just paying respect.

Amarjyoti Saraswati International School organized an expression on Gurupurnima. Students of Senior KG Penguin and Peacock performed dance, drama and sang a song. They also recited shlokas and gave the thank you and welcome speeches. It was a memorable day for all of us.
